I was raised in Brookings, Oregon and grew up fishing on the famous Chetco river for salmon, steelhead and trout. Fishing became a passion early in my life. From the time I could walk my dad would take me out on fishing trips with him. Soon it became all I wanted to do. My mom would send me out for the day with a life jacket and a pole where I wouldn’t come back til dark. My junior and senior year of high school I took a job commercial fishing for salmon off the oregon and california coast. I also spent many summer’s in Roseburg, Or fishing the great umpqua rivers with my uncle and cousins.
In September 2003, I joined the United States Marine Corps. My times of leave were spent back in Oregon during salmon and steelhead seasons. But no matter where I was stationed in my military career I always found a way to fish. From catching bass and carp in Lake O’Neill on Camp Pendleton Calif, Unagi eel in Okinawa Japan to brook trout in Big bear mountain at 29 Palms, California. In Sept of 2013, I finished off my ten year career to country and corps where I proceeded to move to Roseburg to follow my dream of becoming a fishing guide.
